I’ve read so much about this Blueprint Cleanse via Julia/Mary/Meghan I really want to try it. $65/a day is a bit out of my budget until I get all of my moving costs saved up (yes believe it or not I do not spend that much EVERY day on food, as much as I love it).
I’m curious if anyone knows of any other cleanses that are a bit cheaper that I could start with? Or any that are homemade? (lemon/cayenne does not count, I need a real healthy cleanse!) I am done with smoking (finally, I hope) and really want to get clean. I’d appreciate any and all advice.
Recommendations for a DIY Juice Fast. Funny as I was going to write a similar post on this soon since I’m prepping for BPC:
If you don’t want to buy your own juicer (though the latter is expensive unless you want to make it a long term investment), you could buy unpasteurized bottled juices at a discount to what you’d be paying at BPC ($10.75 / bottle) at local juice bars and raw restaurants. Just make sure you are getting some green juices in your purchases. Those will sate hunger since that is where your nutrients are coming from.
Some New York centric resources:
Please note some of these shops’ juices can get pricey since they use organic produce and the Norwalk Press (maximum nutrients). You can vary things up with coconut water and different flavored teas as well. I personally recommend getting a cashew / almond / brazil nut milk - Jubb’s is good for this - to capstone each day as a sweet ‘rich’ treat. Nothing like a raw horchata!
If this is your first cleanse, you can try juicing until dinner and having a vegetables-only salad, dressing with evoo and lemon juice. This will have a similar effect though not as aggressive as juicing. That said, depending on how unhealthy your habits are, you don’t have to go 100% liquid on your first try. The idea is to use a cleanse / fast as a way to kickstart an eating lifestyle change.
On a related note, I actually have been a BPC client prior to all the Internet Hype. For a while in the summer, I was very upset that I had to reserve a cleanse 2 weeks in advance when I normally could be more of an impulse buyer. I wish they had a frequent buyer club (and told them so). I would automatically qualify. Of course, over all, I wish them the utmost success.
I am doing another 5-Day Cleanse starting this Saturday. I’m following my own menu the first two days before doing BPC Level II: Foundation. This is to make sure I am healthy and svelte ahead of Portugal - where I plan on spending a significant amount of time in a bikini and on a surfboard (with wetsuit - le sigh. Damn cold Atlantic waters.)
Hope this helps! Let me know / tumble if you have any questions!
Update: Just want to say I love and am amused by ’The Secret’ effect Tumblr has. Ask and you will receive.
